  91. DESCRIPTION

  93.     RexxOpt optimizes your ARexx scripts by removing all
  94.     information not necessary.  This results in a faster execution
  95.     speed, making working with ARexx much more comfortable.

  97.     When run in default mode (no switch given in command line) the
  98.     following is done:
  99.  
  100.       - all unnecessary blank characters (ASCII 9, 32 and 160) are
  101.         removed
  102.       - all comments are removed
  103.       - consecutive strings are merged to one single string
  104.       - ';' is inserted in front of any DO within the script
  105.       - all blank characters outside strings and comments are
  106.         replaced by <space> (ASCII 32)
  107.       - all (remaining) lines are put into one single line
  108.       - a new comment line is put in front of the script because
  109.         ARexx requires ARexx scripts to begin with a comment.

  111.     This is V1.7, an update to V1.6.

  116.     - New switch DEOPT: (re)insert linefeeds
  117.     - Minor code optimization concerning nested comments
  118.     - New switch FIRSTCOMMENT: Don't strip first comment
  119.     - Filehandling rewritten: it is no longer necessary to provide a
  120.       destination filename. This introduced some new error messages and
  121.       made some of the old obsolete.
  122.     - Titlecomment and filecomment are now set according to current mode
  123.       (optimize/deoptimize).
